Hi Reader,
Every time someone asks what you do, you give a pitch. A grant application is a pitch. So is the sentence you say at a networking table before the other person looks away.
This spring at Social Saturday, more than a dozen women took a turn describing what they’re building and why. This month at CREATE in Salt Lake City, founders did it again at Founder Spotlight and Pitch Fest. Each one came down to a first sentence and an ask. Each one came down to a first sentence and an ask.
At the Virtual CREATE Experience on November 13–14, six founders get five minutes each, with one follow-up question from Michelle Muncy-Silva. This time we want you. You might think this is not for you, but it is. All of us have a founder within. Tell us what you’re building and for whom, the problem you solve, and your ask. Applications close Wednesday, November 4.
The first sentence gets easier every time you say it, so say it to us first.
Warmly,
Anne
P.S. Here’s something that you can use to shape your Founder Spotlight application: The Pitch Coach. Tell it what you offer, who it serves and what sets it apart. It gives you back a starting sentence, a pitch at the length you need, a deck outline, a one-pager, and suggested answers to the objections and questions you might get. Paste the prompt into the AI assistant you already use.

☕️ Worth a Share
Noemi Reyes has built Magister, an operating system for speakers, coaches, consultants and creators who earn their living from their expertise. Most of them run that business across a calendar app, a course platform, a CRM and a spreadsheet that has been renamed more than once. Magister brings it into one place. A contact carries through from a speaking engagement to a cohort to a payment, so you can see which talk, course or post earned the revenue. One module, TEMPO, tracks cognitive and relational load next to the calendar, so overextension shows up before burnout does. Magister is free while it’s in alpha (only 10 spots available). As the site puts it, “Your calendar finally respects your energy.”
