CLAUDE and the MATRIARCHY

Hi Reader,

With any AI these days, but with Claude Code in particular, I find myself angling for agency. I want to be in control of how data is gleaned, used, and deployed on my watch. I want my words to be MINE again, not the gauzy version that barely eeks through a chatbot's personality. I want to feel confident that when I am using AI, my own lived experience is a critical component of our success.

This is why I love working in the Claude Code terminal. It feels powerful — like I'm close to the action. At ugly as the terminal is, I prefer it right now.

Along the way, I've gotten to know alllllll the Claudes. :) I gathered everything I've learned the hard way and a bunch of stuff from AI thought leaders and Sheila (my AI Chief of Staff) weighed in, too.

GRAB THE GUIDE:

The Claude Stack - your guide to all the Claudes.

The Claude Stack is a companion guide to the four Claude products and how they work together — what each does best, when to reach for it, and how Skills, Projects, Memory, and MCP stitch them into a single system.

This is the reference I wish someone had handed me about six months ago!

And if you would rather not sort it all out, on June 11, Sarah Mary and I run Actually Using Claude, a 90-minute working session.

B. Akeela Davis is President of Courageous Business Culture Inc., a consulting firm she built after careers in IT and wealth management — including co-founding the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists and publishing a financial planning guide for people navigating divorce. Today she works as a Fractional Chief AI Officer, helping women-led businesses turn AI into a competitive advantage without burning out the people running them. Her focus is practical: identifying where AI can break through operational bottlenecks and equipping leadership teams to use it well. Akeela holds coaching certifications across leadership, neuroscience, and conflict resolution, and she is an active mentor in the BC women-in-business community.

Cindy Wagman is founder of the Nonprofit Fractionals Network and a CFRE with an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. A former in-house nonprofit leader, she spent nearly a decade building and refining the fractional fundraising model before shifting her focus to coaching experienced fundraisers on how to build profitable consulting businesses. She is the bestselling author of Raise It! The Reluctant Fundraiser's Guide to Raising Money Without Selling Your Soul, former host of The Small Nonprofit podcast, and has presented for AFP, CanadaHelps, and CharityVillage, among others.

Eartha Beech is founder of The Divinity Tech and The Divinity Hub, where she works with pastors, ministry leaders, and church teams to put AI and automation in service of the people running them — not instead of them. Based in South Carolina, Eartha saw a quiet crisis up close: gifted leaders burning out under administrative weight with little time left for the people they serve. Her response was God Led Tech: Harnessing AI & Automation for Ministry Excellence, a practical guide for church leaders who want to use modern tools without losing what makes ministry meaningful. She also publishes The Divinity Download, a newsletter and podcast on faith-driven technology, and hosts digital education through The Divinity Hub for underserved communities and emerging leaders.
