the SLAI Effect

Same Post, Four Accounts

Two women and two men posted identical text. One post reached more people than follow him.

Hi Reader,

To get Cindy Gallop's event posted on LinkedIn, we had to make her bio more palatable. Most of us have done the same with our own posts. "Women" becomes "leaders." The plain sentence becomes the one that sounds like it should go viral.

Cindy came to Social Saturday with a test she ran with her friend Jane Evans. Two women and two men posted the same LinkedIn post. It reached less than 1% of Cindy's followers. For one of the men, it reached more people than follow him.

Her answer to writing for the algorithm was blunt. Each time we soften a post to get seen, the feed learns to expect someone else's voice, so she keeps posting in her own words. When a post gets buried, she quote-posts it and says so, and her reposts travel farther than the originals.

Reply and tell us the word you keep deleting from your drafts.

Warmly,
Anne and Sheila, She Leads AI's Chief of Staff

Social Saturday

Free for all women. Hosted by Beth Lyons and Jen Schwartz.

TURNS OUT WE’RE ALL RUNNING DATA COMPANIES

AI has made all of us data managers.

Our businesses, our work, and our lives generate an enormous amount of information. And now we’re making daily decisions about what goes into AI systems, what stays out, what belongs to us, what belongs to other people, and how we want to manage all of it.

This Saturday, Beth and Jen will lead a conversation about how women are managing data in their lives and businesses in ways that reflect their own values and personal AI policies.

We’ll use examples from participants’ actual lives and businesses to talk through the practical choices we’re making around data, confidentiality, consent, AI tools, human judgment, and responsibility.

And as a side resource, Anne will share the She Leads AI Personal AI Policy Maker for anyone who wants a little help putting their own boundaries and practices into words.

What you’ll come away with

  • A clearer sense of how other women are thinking about and managing their data
  • Practical examples you can apply to your own life and business
  • Better questions for deciding what your own data and AI practices should look like

Gather With Us On Saturdays

Social Saturday is the weekly gathering for human-centered AI practitioners — two hours every Saturday morning where women come together to learn with AI. From seasoned practitioners to the newly curious, we gather on Zoom to make sense of our collective AI journey.

Social Saturday is made possible by the She Leads AI Society, our membership program for human-centered AI practitioners.

Build, Launch, Scale Lab - Workshop 10

Integrate, Reinvent, and Move Forward

For members of the She Leads AI Society

🗓️ Wednesday, October 7

⏰ 11:00am-12:30pm Pacific

The end of the program is not the end of the journey—it is the beginning of building with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

Throughout Build, Launch, Scale Lab, participants have developed practical tools, explored new ideas, strengthened their voice, built systems, and cultivated relationships. This final workshop brings those pieces together, helping participants reflect on their growth, refine their direction, and create a realistic plan for the next 90 days.

Participants will celebrate their progress, share insights with one another, and leave with a practical roadmap for continuing to build momentum long after the cohort concludes.

The Build, Launch, Scale Lab is a benefit of membership in She Leads AI. We recommend the full arc — the workshops build on one another. And the curriculum is built to be joined as your time allows, with every replay and resource waiting in the learning management system.

She describes her work as helping organizations "move from AI experimentation to defensible, high-quality implementation." She and Morgan Leafe, MD, MHA, created the AI Fluent Professional Summit, "Where People Come First," a virtual event on November 16 to 20 that brings together "10 professionals from different fields to talk about the decisions surrounding AI, not just the technology itself." She has spent more than 20 years in medical writing and science communication, freelancing since January 2020. Since 2023 she has implemented AI in medical education environments, and in January 2025 she founded CME AI Whisperer. She writes the newsletter Ask the AI Whisperer, and in January 2026 she announced a free five-part mini-course on AI-powered personalized learning pathways. On September 24 she wrote, "Using AI regularly does not necessarily mean you have built an AI practice." On September 30 she wrote, "Medical writing taught me that accountability cannot be automated."

Steffie Ungphakorn, MA is Senior PhD Program Manager at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder, based in Broomfield, Colorado. She writes, "I love the work I do supporting our incredible PhD students," and she leads the administration and operations of a top-40 PhD program spanning seven academic areas. She was promoted to the role in September after 11 years at Leeds. Since January 2023 she has also served as the school's AI specialist, and as a founding member of the Leeds AI Advisory Committee she has been able "to develop and deliver AI training at Leeds and across CU Boulder." This year she stood at the graduation podium for the tenth time and honored six doctoral students. After the CREATE Conference in Salt Lake City in October 2025, she wrote that "this space felt like coming home." She says she enjoys "looking at established practices with fresh eyes, asking whether there is a better way, and finding practical approaches that make our work more effective while keeping the people we serve at the center."

Yali N'Diaye, RIPC, APR is Founder and Strategic Advisor at Y Perspective and an economic contributor at Econoday, based in Québec, Canada. She describes her work as "Helping organizations anticipate change, align strategic decisions with execution, strengthen reputation and adopt AI responsibly." At Econoday since June 2025 she writes real-time macroeconomic analysis and commentary on Canadian and U.S. developments for institutional investors and financial professionals, and her newsletter The Y Perspective has asked whether AI labs can earn social license as public opposition becomes more politically costly. Her opinion pieces have run in The Globe and Mail. Before Econoday she was Communications and Public Affairs Manager at Canada Development Investment Corporation from January to May 2025, and earlier a market economist and financial journalist who covered economic policy and financial markets across Europe and North America. In June 2026 she spoke for the CFA Institute on how sustainable investment communications can draw lessons from healthcare. On August 28 she wrote, "Canada GDP came in at 3.3% in Q2. And BTW, Q1 was revised up to 0.3%." She writes, "Connecting perspectives is a necessity."

CREATE Conference 2026 is three days in Salt Lake City built for women in AI leadership — October 16–18. Strategy, hands-on sessions, and peers who understand the challenges you're facing. Gather with us →
