πŸ“ The context you keep feeding your AI has gone stale

Hi Reader,

Anne posted this last week and I keep coming back to it.

β€œ
"You're building a PALACE of context for your work with AI, when all you might need is a little pop up tent."
β€” Anne Murphy

She had been feeding her AI old winning proposals, and they kept pulling it toward a strategy and a format she had moved past. She cut the context back to the most recent call transcript and her follow-up note. What came back sounded like the business she is running now.

This Saturday comes at the same question from the other end. Lauren Irving and Madina Gbotoe are teaching you to build a GitHub repository that hands any agent or frontier model your own patterns before it writes a word for you. Both of them speak at the CREATE Conference in October, so Saturday is a head start on their buildathon there.

Come with what you already know how to do. On Saturday you write it into files your AI can read.

Warmly,
Kate

πŸ—“οΈ Social Saturday

Free for all women. Hosted by Beth Lyons and Jen Schwartz.

Build Your AI Context in GitHub

No GitHub experience required. You'll build your first working AI context repository during the session.

A Social Saturday session with She Leads AI with Lauren Irving, Director of Education & Programs, Women Defining AI and Madina Gbotoe, Chief AI Officer, Women Defining AI.

You've spent years building judgment and hard-won wisdom. This hands-on session shows you how to put that expertise into GitHub and turn it into durable context for your work with AI going forward.

Using Lauren's Foundry framework, you'll write down specific experiences and what they've taught you, then identify the ideas and insights that recur across your work. From there, you'll learn how to organize that knowledge in a GitHub repository that an AI agent or frontier model can read and use as context.

You don't need to know GitHub before you arrive. You'll learn by building. A laptop or desktop will be best for this session if you'd like to follow along and build.

Learning outcomes

  • Put your skills and professional wisdom into a form AI can use as context.

  • Learn the basics of creating and organizing a GitHub repository.

  • Build the first files of a personal context repository you can continue expanding as your work and expertise evolve.

About Lauren

Lauren Irving is Director of Education & Programs at Women Defining AI, where she designs courses and workshops that take women from their first prompt to building with AI. She created Foundry after years of teaching women who came to AI from other fields and seeing the value of putting into words what they already knew so they could build from it.

About Madina
Madina Gbotoe is Chief AI Officer at Women Defining AI and AI Solutions Product Manager at Danaher. She came up in science and now builds AI solutions, bringing a practitioner's perspective to how people can use their own expertise to build more useful AI systems.

She Leads AI Member Jam with Shannon Seaver - Vibe Coding with a Lovable SheBuilds Champion

For Members of the She Leads AI Society

You have an app idea stuck in your notes app, and no engineer on staff to build it. Shannon Seaver had the same problem and no coding background to solve it, so she described what she wanted to Lovable, an AI tool, and let it write the code. That process won her Lovable's international SheBuilds Hackathon. She livestreamed the 48-hour build on YouTube against builders from around the world.

At this Member Jam, she'll show you the same process live. Bring the app idea you've been meaning to build, prompt it alongside Shannon on your laptop, and leave with a deployed app and a resources page that includes the prompt cheat sheet and worksheet from the session.

Learning Outcomes

  • Write a prompt that turns a plain-English app idea into working software
  • Design a follow-up prompt that adds a new feature without breaking what already works
  • Build and deploy a working app by the end of the session

About Shannon

Shannon Seaver is an NBCT and former K-12 educator who won Lovable's international SheBuilds Hackathon, livestreaming a 48-hour build on YouTube with no software engineering background. She has since founded two ed-tech startups, TailoredU and RealPath Learning, teaching others to build software the same way she did, by describing what they want and letting AI write the code.

Build, Launch, Scale Lab - Workshop 3
Get Clarity Before You Build Strategy

For Members of the She Leads AI Society

πŸ—“οΈ Wednesday, August 12 from 11:00am-12:30pm Pacific

Workshop 2 of the Build, Launch, Scale Lab, picks up where the first two sessions left off β€” the Compass you drafted in Workshop 0 and the founder identity work from Workshop 1. If this is your first session, the opening discussion stands on its own, no prior sessions required. One principle guides the hour of work ahead. Clarity develops through iteration, so expect rough first drafts and plan to revise. If you tend toward perfectionism, come ready to share work before it feels finished.

You do not need a business idea to participate fully in this program.

Participants will leave workshop 2 with one (or more!) of the following:

  • A consulting concept
  • A side-gig idea
  • A nonprofit initiative
  • A creative offering
  • A clearer understanding of their strengths
  • Or simply a better question than the one they arrived with

All of these represent meaningful progress.

The Build, Launch, Scale Lab is a benefit of membership in She Leads AI. We recommend the full arc β€” the workshops build on one another. And the curriculum is built to be joined as your time allows, with every replay and resource waiting in the learning management system.

Nagawa Lule works from London and co-founded AI Between Worlds last June, a practice she describes as "a creative and consulting practice at the intersection of cultural intelligence, synthography, and AI strategy" β€” synthography being her word for AI-generated visual storytelling. She has consulted on marketing and sustainability strategy since 2019, and since joining us in early 2025 she has become a Social Saturday regular with a session of her own behind her. In April, her piece The Fluid Bridge was part of the Mesa Contemporary AR Art Walk at Mesa Arts Center. In June, it and a second work, The Amalfi Threshold, became part of the Amalfi Coast's augmented reality layer, which she described as new meaning sitting beside centuries of heritage without a stone being moved. That same month she released The Hidden Clan, made entirely in Ray 3.2, a speculative future built around Yasuke, the African man who became a samurai of Oda Nobunaga in the sixteenth century and then largely disappeared from the historical record. She visited Fort Jesus in Mombasa growing up, and what she could not stop wondering about was the silence that followed him. "What futures disappear when history loses track of a person?"

Jen Schwartz co-hosts Social Saturday with Beth Lyons, where she makes sure the promo copy matches what the session turns out to be and handles the inbox in the days before it. Her day job is an Integrity Services role with the Government of Canada, five years of handling sensitive information and explaining nuanced material calmly to people in the middle of something difficult. Before that came escalation calls at Scotiabank and editorial work at elephant journal and Mindful. Last August she ran the box office for the Halifax Fringe Festival. Her subject across all of it is how language can either block or enable access to a complicated process. She earned an Accessibility Consultant Certification from Brock University in January and works as a freelance editor and sensitivity reader, with a particular interest in how AI meets creativity in communities that fear theft and erasure. She describes her specialty as being the final set of eyes on content, whether it was drafted by a human, AI, or both. As she puts it, "I'm drawn to the work others avoid."

Lois Britnor leads product content operations at Benevity, the platform companies run their corporate giving and volunteering through, which puts her in charge of the words inside software that moves donations to nonprofits. She read mathematics at the University of Manchester and started out on the technical side of British insurance software, then spent three years in London as a presales consultant for a capital-markets analytics firm. She joined Benevity's Vancouver office in 2021 selling technical solutions and has since moved into writing them, taking over product content as a manager in 2024 and its operations last November. Artificial intelligence sits at the top of the skills attached to that role. When Fast Company named Benevity one of its Most Innovative Companies for 2026, she credited the platform's "responsible AI approach" for the recognition. Last September she was also on the Benevity team that pulled a commercial aircraft 100 meters down a runway at Vancouver International, raising more than $10,000 for Hope Air and, as she put it, "Canadians who deserve access to healthcare."
