The Forgotten Layer: Reclaiming What Was Left Out
In Week 4 of the Infrastructure Series, we shift from what’s broken to how women build in parallel. The question underneath this week’s work is simple: “What comes next?”
Gen X women were never written into the model. We don’t need inclusion. We don’t need apologies. We need systems that finally see us.
This is what reclamation looks like:
The Data Layer: documenting workflows, voice notes, and memory as living archives
The Discovery Layer: publishing in places we own and lifting each other into view
The Systems Layer: designing tools that move with our lives—relational, cyclical, intuitive
The systems that erased us will not be the systems that save us. We’re not behind. We’re the layer they forgot.
And we’re building for permanence.
