At CREATE 2025, Lauren Irving ran a buildathon. Women walked in, many of them having never built anything with AI before, and walked out with a prototype.
Many of them went on to launch a product, win buildathons, land their first 1,000 paying customers, and other triumphs.
For a lot of them it was the highlight of CREATE.
Lauren returns this year, and she brings Madina Gbotoe with her β another gloriously talented builder.

Lauren builds people, communities, and practical AI skills, usually all at once. She is Quality and Training Manager at Zinnia, leading a global team that uses data, learning design, and generative AI to close performance gaps across Sales and Operations, and Director of Education and Programs at Women Defining AI. She teaches from inside the work. She has coached the learners who said they were not technical enough and helped every one of them prove themselves wrong.
Madina leads AI product development at Danaher and serves as Chief AI Officer at Women Defining AI. More than ten years across diagnostics, digital pathology, and clinical systems, including five years inside UCSF operating rooms before she moved into product. She trained in science, not software. The Wall Street Journal profiled her for building her own conversational AI agent.
