Hi Reader,
β
Happy Monday.
β
This weekβs GOODS came directly out of my fundraising campaign counsel world, but the problem comes up all over social impact work: you have a big idea, and somehow you have to scrunch it onto one page, and that's SO HARD. It feels reductive, and somehow overblown. It definitely slows my roll. Just me?
The Problem
Sometimes an organization needs to whip up a nice document for a donor, client, investor, or someone else in a hurry. And by nice document, I mean useful and presentable. We can save the critically important, high-production-value document for another day.
β
It feels like the words need to be perfect and the design needs to look polished. βA few ideas on how [the donors] can make a differenceβ turns into a massive creative writing project.
The Solution
The Giving Opportunities Builder gets you to good enough quickly.
β
Give it the material you already have β notes, plans, budgets, program ideas, gift amounts β and work through what the gift funds, what it makes possible, and what is ready to put in front of a donor.
β
Then use that work to create a one-page giving opportunity, a menu, a proposal, or another donor piece. The same content can later feed stewardship, an impact report, campaign communications, and more.
β
You get past the blank page and into something useful. Then tweak it to your heartβs desire.
Enjoy!!!
β
If you know someone trying to get a very big idea onto a very small page, send this their way.
Warmly,
Anne and the Empowered Fundraiser team
P.S. If you build one, hit reply and tell me what you put on the page. I'd love to see it.
